The future of cities is moving away from car dependency and toward active and public transit, but how do we reach this goal? My project is about changing user behavior by measuring the comfort of active transit and delivering this data to cities to inform urban planning. I presented this project at SDN Berlin 2023 to display the disruptive power of service design to tackle complex world issues.
The toilet paper industry chops down 7 million trees a year in North America. Reel, a Certified B Corp, is disrupting this $92.6 billion dollar industry through bamboo toilet paper that is better for the environment. In this project we researched their place in the industry and developed a plan for their future sustainability strategy.
How can we leverage the trends of micro Business and an increased desire to get away from fast fashion? This project develops a sustainable business model based around repurposing iconic phone booths and creating a convenient option for on the go repairs.
